Sharp Solar Hybrid Consumes Zero Power for Giving You Notification

Battery life durability has become main concern for every phone manufacturer especially those with superb features that often waste so much energy. Thus, the development continues by the invention of backup power by using sunlight as additional energy supplier besides battery. Therefore, it seems like cell-solar phone begins to show its teeth in the phone market recently.

The previous released Samsung E1107 had been introduced to bring in the cell-solar powered phone to market and today Sharp announced that the addition to cell-solar powered phone manufactured by Sharp is already in China phone market recently. It is Sharp Solar Hybrid SH6230C, the new model and feature that has been developed as another breakthrough of cell-solar phone.

Generally, apart from the six different colors as the alternatives, the features of Sharp Solar Hybrid are shown in simple but quite impressive. The phone that runs on GSM band is placed backlit LCD screen that will consume zero power by using the passive ‘memory LCD’ screen. This screen is a small screen which is usually used on phones. The ‘memory LCD’ screen in Sharp Solar Hybrid is used to conserve power. Besides, it also shows you the time and the status of incoming SMS or email inbox. As the main interface, Sharp Solar carries 2.9 inch LCD screen. Additionally, a 5 megapixels digital camera is integrated to capture your best moment.

Built in Scanner in Digital Photo Frame

A digital photo frame with built in scanner is being offered by catalog company Hammacher Schlemmer. This digital photo frame is able to scan your picture then inserts it automatically to its internal memory. This photo frame has 8-inch LCD display.

According to the Hammacher Schlemme’s site, this device is easy to operate. The scanner is capable of 300-dpi scanning and transform the image into .JPG. This device has the built in internal storage of 1Gb.

Similar to the other digital photo frames, this device is able to double as stationary PMP. This digital photo frame will be able to play MPEGs and MP3s. (more…)

Windows Mobile 7 will be Delayed till the End of 2010

Are you a Windows Mobile device user? If so, you may not feel good to know this as the upcoming update version of Windows Mobile, v7 will be delayed till the end of 2010. Is this a sign for a close death of WinMo?

At the past WinMo had passed its golden era when it was used on Windows Mobile Dell Axim, Palm Tungsten T and Palm Treo. The later had released Windows Mobile Treo 700WX. But now Windows Mobile has got its hard rivals such as Android and iPhone OS. So, how WinMo will develop its future is not yet known.

Phil Moore from UK Microsoft’s mobility division, WinMo v7 release will be delayed till the end of next year. It may be not the good decision as Windows rivals will launch their update earlier.

RIM and Microsoft have admitted the iPhone supremacy. iPhone has offered people their fresh and new OS that looks very iconic and comes with its special user interface.

If we see the name, LG LU9400 Arena Max, it seems this phone is the upgraded version of the available Arena. This available LG Arena was launched about a year ago.

Nokia N97 Mini and Its Sibling, N97

We all know that Nokia N97 Mini is the mini version of Nokia N97. This mini version is certainly comes with cheaper price than the sibling. Now we look at the comparison within both handset, whether is better. If in N97 we find restart or freezing without any reason so in N97 Mini, that will not happen. But this mini version still has lags and not that good respond to the command.

In term of call, N97 Mini brings the better in-call quality than N97. We hear the loud and clear sound. As for the design, N97 Mini is also better with its more nice design and better material too. N97 Mini has the more quality in system stability.

HTC HD2 Short Preview

If you are seeking the handset that able to do what iPhone can do, so it may HTC HD2. However, it still has the plus and minus. So for this purpose, we write this short preview.

So the minus thing is that HTC HD2 doesn’t support multi-touch gesture. So this condition has reduced its capacitive screen value. Due to this reason, HTC HD2 only makes use of pinch zooming on its Google Maps, image gallery, the Opera browser, and even CoPilot Navigator.

At least HTC has the good work to make the best out of WinMo 6.5 it is used. With the biggest capacitive screen ever seen on mobile phone, it adds the plus value. But further more we hope its sunlight screen legibility will get better in future.

ICD or Innovative Converged Devices has confirmed Vega, their mystery tablet device. This news has been confirmed earlier in this week. Vega is presented in some display sizes including 7-, 11-, and 15-inch. This device is simple yet beautiful in its svelte design. Equipped with Tegra processor, the product comes with plenty of muscle. Its resistive screen will work well with Android 2.0. It comes without GPS sensor, so Google Navigation seems not to include.

“World-Mode” iPhone by Apple will be Ready

According to a report by OTR Global, the Apple has a plan for releasing a UMTS/CDMA hybrid iPhone. The plant will be released in Q3 2010. If it can be realized, that new hybrid iPhone will be the nice player in its joint with AT&T’s contract and Verizon’s network in United States.

This new iPhone will offer a 2.8-inch screen as well as smaller body. All those are consistent with photos appeared on iLounge some months ago. Asustek will be the manufacture of the new iPhone.

The Universal Phone Charger

Finally an universal phone charger has been approved by International Telecommunication Union (ITU). This charger will work for many devices. It uses microSD port to connect to the phone. So you can charge the phone on your PC via wall socket. It also can be used on your car using a single universal cable and accessories.

Unfortunately it is not compulsory for the companies to adopt this technology. There are about 51,000 of old chargers were thrown away since people like to change their charge when have the new phones.

The nice one is that this charger is energy efficient. It has high efficiency rating. It is predicted also that it will help to decrease annual greenhouse emission till 13.6m tones.

MicroUSB Standard is Supported by ITU

There is a progress has been made. Some weeks ago CTIA had declared that a MicroUSB standard must be used for every device by 2012. Now it seems that this statement has been supported by ITU (International Telecommunications Union). ITU is the Tech branch of UN. So we know that this is a huge positive step that many organizations agree on one standard charger.

This way the users will get the same charger for longer time because it will compatible with many phones. This way the waste chargers will also be reduced. In other side, like the ITU had said that this standard charge will be energy efficient.

New MacBook, iMac, Mac Mini, Magic Mouse were Announced

Some days ago Apple has announced their new products lines. They are MacBook, iMac, Mac Mini and Magic Mouse.

The MacBook comes with uni body enclosure, big multitouch track pad (like that of MacBook Pros) and non removable 7-h battery.

As for iMac, it has the last generation design, various Core 2 Duo and a 21.5-inch LED. If you would like to seek another, look at the 27-inch model that comes with an Intel i5 or i7. Both models will support up to 16GB of RAM.

The same design can be found on Mac Mini but this time with a processor upgrade and equipped with more RAM as well as a NVIDIA 9400M 256MB graphics card

The Color Touchscreen Ebook Reader, the Nook

The other competitor for Sony and Amazon seems to arise again. This time is from Barnes and Noble Inc. The ebook reader is dubbed the Nook. The nice thing here is that the reader comes with color touchscreen. The estimated price will be $259 and it will be available tomorrow. The report is found on Wall Street Journal.

The other interesting thing is that the ebook reader will let the customer to “lend ebook to their friends”. Not sure, what it is so just wait for the press release. (more…)
